Hello!
My name is Heather and this is hopefully the first post of many in my new blog.
After receiving several comments and questions through this website, I have decided to make it more personal and to keep updating it on a regular basis. My plan is to blog about current events going on in the library world. In fact, I'm presently working on writing something about the new library movement through the American Library Association called "Libraries Transform." It was discussed in their latest issue of American Libraries and I found it to be quite interesting, which is why it will be the first subject I will be writing about.
A little about myself:
I live in Southern California with my parents and their two dogs. Living in California isn't easy as everything is way overpriced. Having gone through a recent divorce, I'm staying with my parents until I can get back on my feet.
I do have a BA in English that I received from California State University of San Bernardino, as well as a Master's in Library and Information Sciences which I received from Clarion University of Pennsylvania (lots of online courses to achieve that MA!). I have worked in a few different libraries, but for the last few years I have had to work temp jobs in order to pay bills due to my ex-husband being military. Now that I won't be moving out of the area any time soon, I am back to trying to find one of the few library jobs available nearby.
If you have any feedback, it is appreciated! Also feel free to contact me through my "Contact me" page and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.
Thanks so much for visiting my page!
